Hillary joined the staff team in 2008 and is the Methodist Tutor. He lectures in Biblical Studies and oversees our partnership with the Methodist church as the Field Tutor at the Guy Chester centre in north London.
After his initial studies at the Theological College of Zimbabwe where he trained for ordained ministry, he undertook postgraduate studies in Pretoria, Cambridge and Bristol and wrote his doctoral dissertation on ‘The use of Proverbs to inculcate values in Shona and Israelites Society’ (Bristol, 2008). He has worked as a lecturer at the Theological College of Zimbabwe and as an assistant minister in a Baptist Church in the UK.
His research interests include anthropological and sociological approaches in biblical interpretation, Hebrew Wisdom literature, post-colonial readings of the Bible and the relevance of OT prophecy to the contemporary church.
Hillary is married to Alcidia and they live in north London.
