CORE MODULES

The SEITE community is a dispersed community. We live, work and meet to study all over the south-east of England. Our main office is located in Medway, although we have a subsidiary office in central London. Our teaching takes place in a variety of locations.

You can take core modules via evening classes on Tuesdays at Southwark Cathedral from 6:30 – 9:00pm, or on Wednesdays at the main Canterbury Christ Church University campus from 6:45 – 9:15pm.  Following the induction evening, there are 30 classes each year.  At both centres we meet for worship and teaching begins 15 minutes later.  There is a 15 minute break during evening classes.

You may also choose to take core modules via teaching days.  These normally run from 9:15am – 5:15pm.  There are 10 teaching days each year, 5 on a Friday (preceding a residential weekend for Ordained Ministry students, and at the same venue) and 5 on a Saturday (at Southwark Cathedral).  The dates for level 4.1 teaching days are:

  • Fridays: 14th September, 19th October, 9th November and 24th November 2012
  • Saturdays: 19th January, 1st February, 16th March, 20th April, 10th May and 8th June 2013

SEITE uses a variety of centres for its residential teaching. These centres are all located in the South East of England and provide comfortable accommodation and good teaching facilities.  Currently we use Ashburnham Place in East Sussex, Aylesford Priory near Maidstone in Kent, the King Charles Hotel in Gillingham, the King’s School in Canterbury, Oak Hall in Otford, Wychcroft in Surrey, and a Roman Catholic Seminary in Bovendonk (Netherlands).  Our centres range from ancient to modern and from secular to those steeped in centuries of Christian tradition.  They provide a warm welcome, places of peace and beautiful surroundings.

ORDAINED MINISTRY STUDENTS

This involves six residential weekends (during term time) that run from supper on Friday to lunchtime on Sunday and a seven night residential school each year.

 The first residential weekend is 14th – 16th September 2012 and Residential School 2013 is 31st March – 7th April 2013.

READERS IN TRAINING

This involves four study days each year.  Study days for Readers in Training normally run from 9:30am – 5:30pm and will take place within the Canterbury Diocese on 6th October and 1st December 2012; 6th April and 27th April 2013.
